Sittingbourne High Street can look forward to an injection of creativity this summer thanks to the arts programme planned for No.34, the first phase in our wider regenerations plans for Sittingbourne.
Run by local arts organization Ideas Test, No. 34 offers flexible workspace to support local business start-ups and a programme of digital and business skills support for emerging creative businesses. Through their work, the organisation aims to increase opportunities for people in Swale & Medway to take part in arts and creative activity.
Alongside the regular programme of activities on offer at No. 34 for Sittingbourne locals, Ideas Test has put together a fantastic line-up of art events and workshops this summer. From a visual art exhibition to immersive theatre, dance groups to business strategy for creative businesses, Ideas Test is doing a fantastic job of breathing life back into No. 34 Sittingbourne High Street.
An old retail unit in the main shopping area of the town jointly owned by U+I and Swale Borough Council, the unit was transformed into an exciting new venue for Sittingbourne and the surrounding area. Since opening at the end of 2015, over 1,900 people have taken part in workshops and events at No. 34.
No. 34’s launch marked the beginning of a major £46 million mixed use regeneration project that we are working on in partnership with Swale Borough Council, the Spirit of Sittingbourne.
