Artists and local residents brought a touch of greenery to our project in Southwark with the launch of a community garden at Platform, an arts and community space housed at our Algarve House regeneration project, a partnership with TfL.
Over a cup of coffee and slice of cake, attendees helped to sow the first seeds for the first phase of Plaform’s community garden project, as well as sharing their ideas and feedback as the garden begins to take shape.
As well as ‘planting the seeds’ for a fantastic space for the local community to enjoy, the event was a prime opportunity for resident artists to fling open their studio doors and introduce Platform to Southwark locals.
Platform is a multi-discipline temporary project space with a mission to encourage and promote ground-breaking art, music and performance. Collaboration and engagement with the local community is a central to Platform’s mission, which aims to be a fun and creative space that is accessible to all.
The ongoing development of the community garden is just one of the many interesting activities, events and exhibitions happening at Platform. See the full listings on the website or follow @PlatformSthwrk on Twitter for live updates.
