New regeneration scheme for Walthamstow

We’ve exchanged contracts to bring forward a new mixed-use regeneration project for the Forest Works site on Blackhorse Road, North East London.

Less than 150 metres from Blackhorse Road Station in Walthamstow, the 3-acre industrial site has the potential to deliver 300 new homes and 5,500 sq. ft. of commercial space for the area, with a GDV of £95 million.

Forest Works sits within an area that has already been earmarked for significant wider regeneration, and the scheme will support the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s aim to deliver over 2,500 new homes and 1,000 new jobs in the next ten years. Blackhorse Lane has been described by Councillor Clare Coghill, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and High Streets as the area with “the greatest potential for improvement of any part of the borough”, so we’re delighted to be part of the area’s future.

Consultations will begin in the coming months as we start to develop our plans for Forest Works, working closely with the Council and local community to make sure the plans reflect their aspirations for the area. The initial planning application is expected to be submitted in early 2017.

Forest Works demonstrates our approach to unlocking urban sites bristling with potential. Plans will take shape in the coming months, but will be sure to embody our commitment to creating huge, long-lasting social and economic change for the communities in which we build, and sustainable value for our shareholders.
