399 Edgware Road
399 Edgware Road is the redevelopment of the former Oriental City shopping centre in Colindale, NW9. The seven acre site has been transformed into a new mixed-use development providing new homes and retail along Edgware Road.
The site has been owned by U+I since 2005. However, due to the economic downturn in 2008 we went back to the drawing board and worked closely with Brent Council to replace the site and submitted new plans in 2012.
The first phase of this £150 million project is anchored by an 80,000 sq. ft. foodstore which was pre-let to Morrisons and is now open to the public. The remainder of phase one comprises 50,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space and an extensive newly landscaped public realm. The retail and restaurant space is operated by leading Oriental and Far Eastern leisure companies, Loon Fung and Royal China Group, who opened Bang Bang Oriental Foodhall in July 2017.
The second phase of 399 Edgware Road was completed in 2019, delivering 183 new mid-market homes in partnership with L&Q, alongside space for Brent Council to build a new primary school. Along with new apartments and townhouses, there are also 590 car parking spaces, 501 cycle spaces and landscaped public space.
