Caxton Works is situated in the beating heart of a redeveloped two-acre site in Canning Town.
The former Goswell Bakeries buildings and Moss Electrical warehouse in Caxton Street North have been transformed into new homes, commercial premises and retail space.
Masterminded by architect Studio Egret West, U+I has created a sustainable commercial quarter with a range of businesses.
The mixed-use development provides 336 new homes, built by Galliard Homes, and attracts forward-thinking enterprises to the area. The site includes a vibrant, ground floor commercial community, focused on new creative business start-ups.
The 13 commercial units are at ground and mezzanine levels, include floor to ceiling windows, and have an exposed concrete finish. Hoy Street, which runs between the North and South blocks, is pedestrianised, which creates a community feel and drives footfall through the development.
The residential element of the scheme was sold to Galliard with the 13 commercial units being retained by U+I.
